How we compare
IT by WeServeAI is an operations platform for facility / staffed managed IT — visibility that drives decisions (estate posture, trends), then the same spine for clients, sites, assets, discovery agents, network collectors, calendars, and issues. It is not a full PSA suite, a CRM help desk, or a generic project tracker. Below is an honest snapshot for buyers and operators, not a feature bake-off score.
Disclaimer. This comparison is a point-in-time view as of 17 October 2026. Ratings and notes are based on our product as we ship it and on publicly available information about peers (vendor sites, docs, and common industry knowledge). Later on, competitors’ capabilities can and may have changed — treat this as orientation for that date, not a certified competitive analysis or a guarantee of current third-party features.
Who we put side by side
- ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus (SDP) — common in India for ITSM + asset; closest “category peer” for help desk and CMDB-style work.
- Jira Service Management (JSM) — excellent ITSM tickets and workflows; weaker as a multi-customer staffed-MSP estate + discovery agent product.
- Zoho Desk (and Zoho’s broader suite) — strong help desk, SLAs, and ecosystem (Books, CRM, Creator). Asset/IT estate usually means stitching Creator or other apps — not a native staffed multi-client register with a Windows agent. Not the same product as ManageEngine SDP (also Zoho Corp family, different line).
MSP PSA suites (HaloPSA, ConnectWise, Autotask) sit in another lane: deep commercials and technician tooling. Today the useful contrast for most conversations is SDP (breadth in India), JSM (ticket culture many engineers already know), and Zoho Desk (help desk + Zoho One commercials many Indian SMBs already run).
Capability snapshot
| Capability | WeServeWeServeAI | SDP | Jira SM | Zoho |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Multi-client, multi-site estate (MSP → customer) We treat client and site as the spine for assets and tickets. JSM is usually one org’s ITSM; Zoho Desk is typically one support org, not a staffed multi-customer estate. | Strong | Strong | Partial | Light |
Leadership visibility that drives decisions (estate posture) Client Estate Posture answers “which account needs us?” — hosts, warranty, agent coverage, unallocated, ops alerts, open issues — under the same client/site scope. Built for practice owners and ops leads to act, not only to watch a queue. SDP/ME have report packs; Desk/JSM are not multi-client estate posture products. | Strong | Partial | Light | Light |
Scoped access for on-site teams Role × site grants so a plant engineer only sees their sites — not the whole tenant. Desk departments are not the same model. | Strong | Strong | Partial | Light |
Collection vs view permissions (who may enroll / stop agents) We split enroll/revoke and network-collector create/delete from plain asset edit so client admins can onboard devices without stopping collection. | Strong | Partial | Light | N/A |
Asset register + custody + Excel intake Custody includes Allocated to, responsible parties, console usage history, and Follow console for shared PCs. JSM Assets exists in some editions. Zoho usually stitches Desk + Creator/CRM — not a native multi-client register with desk-user soft-allocate. | Strong | Strong | Light | Light |
Windows discovery agent → register (OS + inventory) Heartbeats, change-detect inventory (hardware + software), first-class OS identity on the host, tray presence for staffed floors — same asset model operators edit. | Strong | Partial | Light | N/A |
Software inventory + Excel-friendly export Agent-reported packages plus a long-format CSV (one row per install) so Excel filters work on name/version — separate from the one-row-per-asset register. | Strong | Strong | Light | Light |
Endpoint vulnerability posture (OSV + CPE/NVD) Opt-in: catalog-mapped installs × OSV and CPE→NVD (e.g. browsers), plus optional contextual asset risk. Coverage-aware — not a claim every package was scanned. Not a full scanner/patch orchestrator; SDP/ME stacks often go deeper elsewhere. | Partial | Partial | Light | N/A |
Network discovery (collectors, segments, endpoints) Site-scoped collectors report into the same client/site authz as assets. SDP leans on broader ME inventory stacks; Desk/JSM are not network discovery products. | Strong | Partial | N/A | N/A |
Calendars (availability, holidays, blackouts) Opt-in: personal OOO, company/government holidays, blackouts; optional Google/Outlook link on personal calendars; availability query for a client/site timeframe. Peers often lean on Outlook/Google or ITSM calendars outside the estate spine. | Strong | Partial | Partial | Partial |
Issues: claim → wait → fix → verify/close + phase dwell Lifecycle includes Waiting (customer/vendor/parts/approval/internal) and records time-in-phase for performance analysis. Close = customer verification with remind/auto-close. Mature ITSM has deeper custom workflows; we keep staffed-ops language and dwell on the same spine. | Strong | Strong | Strong | Strong |
Escalation by priority + teams Mature ITSM/help desks have deeper SLA engines; we ship claim windows and dual provider/client notify. | Strong | Strong | Strong | Strong |
Ops summaries & lifecycle trends (decision-oriented) Issue summary (lifecycle mix, cycle times, week-to-week) and estate summaries under the same client/site authz — surfaces meant to drive staffing and account priorities, not only export reports. | Strong | Strong | Strong | Partial |
Notifications (in-app, email, Telegram) Subscriptions for audit events with in-app, email, and optional Telegram (immediate). Digests and channels exist across peers; ours stay on the same scoped event spine. | Strong | Strong | Strong | Strong |
Module entitlements (phased client rollout) Provider can enable modules (e.g. network, work, calendars, vulnerabilities) per tenant and keep some staff-only — useful when rolling out without boiling the ocean. | Strong | Partial | Partial | Partial |
In-app Assistant + Issue Assist (estate-grounded AI) Floating Assistant for orientation and live lookup (same permissions as the user) plus Issue Assist with BYOK OpenAI/Gemini, optional tool loops, and Copy for External AI with identifiers scrubbed. Platform spend caps and per-user allowances for BYOK cost control. Zia / vendor AI are strong for help desk; ours is tied to the scoped estate spine. | Strong | Partial | Strong | Partial |
Planned Work (Epic / Feature / Story / Task) + campaigns Separate from Issues (break/fix): backlog → done workflow, assignee notify, tags/refs/attachments, and provider campaigns that link delivery across clients. JSM/Jira win on project polish; we keep Work on the same client/site authz as the estate. | Strong | Partial | Strong | Light |
External AI agents via MCP (OAuth + scoped tokens) Cursor and other MCP clients connect as the signed-in user. Read vs Read/write; write minting gated by grant. Deep reads (posture, custody, tags, calendars) and writes (hold/resume issues, allocate, etc.) still bound to normal permissions — not a second ACL. | Strong | Light | Partial | Light |
Built for staffed / facility MSP (India-first) Thesis: people on customer sites, multi-client estate, and leadership decision surfaces — not only a remote ticket queue or a CRM/support inbox. | Strong | Partial | Light | Light |
Full PSA billing, contracts, GST runbooks We do not replace billing/accounting yet. Zoho Books/Invoice (and SDP commercial modules) often win here; we stay ops-of-record. | Light | Strong | N/A | Strong |
Deep RMM / remote control / patch orchestration We integrate the estate; we are not trying to replace Ninja/Atera-class RMM on day one. | Light | Partial | N/A | N/A |
Marketplace, plugins, decade of polish Incumbents win on ecosystem and familiarity. We win on fit for our delivery model. | Light | Strong | Strong | Strong |
Where we tend to be ahead (for our model)
- Decision-first visibility — Client Estate Posture and lifecycle summaries so practice owners and ops leads know which account to move next, with leaders and on-site teams on one register.
- One product spine for provider + customer portal with the same client/site permissions on lists, summaries, agents, calendars, and network collectors.
- Discovery agent that keeps the register current (heartbeat vs inventory cadence, hardware + software + OS identity, desk custody) without bolting on a separate RMM as the system of record.
- Software inventory export in long format so Excel filters work — without exploding the one-row-per-asset register.
- Endpoint vulnerability posture on the same enrolled assets: catalog-mapped installs × OSV and CPE/NVD, with coverage-aware badges (not a whole-PC “clean” claim).
- Network module (collectors → segments/endpoints) under the same authz as assets, with create/delete separated from view.
- Issues with Waiting reasons, phase dwell, and close = verification (remind/auto-close) — timing leaders can use for staffing.
- In-app Assistant and Issue Assist grounded in the same scoped estate (OpenAI/Gemini BYOK, spend caps), plus Copy for External AI that scrubs identifiers before leaving the product.
- Work for planned delivery (Epic/Feature/Story/Task, campaigns) beside Issues — not a generic project tool bolted on.
- MCP for external agents (Cursor and others): OAuth Approve or personal tokens with Read only vs Read and write (write gated by grant), including posture and issue hold/resume.
- Lightweight path for a staffed practice — not an 18-month PSA or Zoho One rebuild.
Where others are ahead (we say so)
- SDP / PSA suites: years of SLA catalogs, change/problem management depth, and commercial modules.
- JSM: workflow customization, Atlassian ecosystem / Intelligence, and familiarity for development-adjacent IT teams.
- Zoho Desk + Zoho One: polished help desk, Zia, and billing/CRM/Books many SMBs already pay for — we are not trying to replace that commercial suite.
- RMM vendors: remote control, patch campaigns, and full-estate vulnerability / endpoint tooling we intentionally do not duplicate — our vuln posture is catalog-focused on agent inventory, not a scanner replacement.
What we are not claiming
We are not “better than Jira or Zoho at everything.” Jira is a strong ticket platform; Zoho is a strong help desk and business suite. We are building the ops system of record for multi-site staffed delivery — visibility that drives decisions (estate posture, trends), assets, agents, network discovery, calendars, endpoint vulnerability posture (catalog × OSV/NVD), issues with waiting and phase dwell, planned Work, in-app Assistant and Issue Assist, MCP for external agents, and scoped access. We will stay honest about billing, RMM depth, marketplace gaps, that Assist is an on-demand wedge — not a fully autonomous ops agent — and that vulnerability coverage is focused on mapped software, not a claim to scan every package on every PC.
